Messner portale Kandahar

Behind Reinhold Messner, the great mountaineer, our portal in cedar wood from an old wooden mosque dating back to the early 19th century.

This portal comes from a village in the Kohistan region, a high Swat valley in Northern Pakistan, at the foot of the Hindu-Kush mountain range.

Kandahar, in the guise of its owner Andrea Gracis, has donated part of its collection of furniture, costumes, everyday objects and architectural elements to the Museum of the Mountain Peoples of Brunico (Bolzano – Italy), with which a special room in the castle, seat of the museum, was set up, on the peoples who inhabit the mountains of Northern Afghanistan and Pakistan.
